de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth
One of the mainstays of the New Zealand aviation industry in the late 1930's and through into the early 1950s, the ubiquitos Tiger Moth will certainly be at the show in numbers.
This famous training aircraft was designed in 1931 as an improved version of the Gipsy Moth (which first appears in 1925).
During the Second World War the British designed Tiger Moth was built in many Commonwealth countries including New Zealand (the current Air New Zealand domestic terminal at Wellington airport stands on the site of the old Tiger Moth factory).
All Kiwi airshows feature this aircraft but we are doing something different. See the Tiger in roles as diverse as the Wing Walker to the only Spray Tiger still flying and the only Dung Duster still flying. A combination of sights not seen together since 1960.
Compare the Tiger to the Vampire, made by the same manufacturer, there is only 12 years of development between their prototype's maiden flights.
... plus we're expecting others which we'll announce as soon as we can ...
