Military Vehicles
Military Vehicle collectors from all over New Zealand will be displaying their pride and joys at Wings Over Wairarapa 2009. As the aero engines that made the RAF a force to be reckoned with roar overhead, military vehicles and reenactors will support them in a ground role, along with a pyrotechnic display by one of New Zealand's most accomplished virtuoso's in the art of big bangs.
When they are back in their static display encampment many of these same vehicles will be available for you to go for a ride so you can experience why they hold such a fascination for so many people. There will even be a raffle for some lucky patron to win a ride in the premium military vehicle at WoW 09.

Lunchtime Entertainment
While you take a breath after the morning's flying session a parade of stylish motor vehicles retailed by one of our major sponsors Williams & Adams will take place along the flightline -- keep an eye out to see if you can spot any of our special guests on board one of luxurious vehicles.
Displaying just a tad less luxury but a lot of practicality the Military Vehicles boys and girls will follow along in their weapons of war and commentators will tell you about each type.
As they vacate in a cloud of smoke, noise and dust some of the most seriously cool Radio Controlled model aircraft to fly in New Zealand will ramp up and take to the air. Aircraft from the dawn of aviation right through to some of the hottest ships to fly in combat will amaze you with their size and stunning detail.

Live Music
Members of the Central Band of the RNZAF will be performing during the show for your entertainment. The Central Band was formed in May 1935 and made its public debut on 12 May 1937 for the Coronation of King George VI. It functioned as a full-time unit during World War II but was disbanded at the conclusion of the war. In 1951 the band was reformed as a territorial (part-time) unit and it has remained this way to the present day.
